Origin Green Sustainability Programme
We are currently in the process of completing Origin Green Certification. PLANTING TREES We plant the equivalent of a native Irish woodland (1200+ trees) every two years in Ireland (trough ReforestNation) and in 2023 we partnered with Tree-Nation and began planting trees in countries where we source our coffee. Offsetting the carbon produced in our roastery by the planting of trees allows the roastery to be a carbon negative (Scope 1 & 2). WASTE REDUCTION Chaff (a by-product of roasting) is used to create fertiliser and bedding for hens. Our coffee sacks are given to the local community, local schools and garden centres. We have connected with local bee keepers who repurpose our used coffee sacks for their smokers.
