Manor Farm chicken, founded in 1775 is one of the oldest food companies in Ireland. With close on 1000 employees as well as nearly 200 contracted Farmers we are proud to be at the forefront of the Irish Chicken Industry. Our Processing Plant is situated in Co. Cavan together with our Nutrition Centre (Feed Mill). Our Farms are primarily in the North East of Ireland with a number of Farms further spread out around the country.
It is one of the oldest family companies in the country and dates back to 1775 when it was trading in the Dublin Markets. Originally in those heady days over 200 years ago, chickens would be brought from the farmyards all around the country to the Dublin Markets and Carton’s would sell them on. In later years people would send their live chickens on the train marked for Carton’s where they would then be sold and the money would be sent back to the Farmers by return (less a commission of course).
All Manor Farm chicken is 100% Irish and produced to only the very highest standards. All our chicken is Bord Bia approved and is a regular winner of numerous quality awards from Industry bodies. We are consistent winners of several Irish & International Food Awards.
We at Manor Farm are very proud of our farmers and of the hard work they do to bring the finest quality chicken to you. The majority of our farmers are found in the traditional chicken farming areas of counties Cavan & Monaghan as well as counties Meath, Louth, Limerick & Waterford.
